Ordered some tofu soup since I have some sick people in the home with cough and nasal congestion.  The lady on the phone who took my order was really nice.  And even read back the order in an organized way.  I ordered 4 soups and a beef bulgogi entree and estimated time for pick up was 20 min.
I arrived about 5 min early and ti my surprise everything was neatly packaged and ready for pickup. I was actually concerned on how I was going to bring 4 hot scalding soups home without spilling on the drive back.  But they thoughtfully packaged everything in a box, so no matter how I drove it wouldn't spill!!  Which I feel is going above and beyond what was necessary.  Evidently each soup for the lunch menu came with a thing of rice, as well as the different kimchi sides which I was quite surprised by.
The soups I ordered ranged from mild spicy to medium spicy to the 2nd spiciest.  And they were really good.  Not too spicy at all, but it did the job of clearing up their nasal passages.   We had their seafood, beef, pork and dumpling tofu soup.  Each one tasted great, and was so hot it was comforting.  Like a warm blanket on a cold night!!
Their beef bulgogi entree was amazing as well.  Wasen't dressed up in all this sauce like other places.  But it was thinly sliced beef that was flavorful and most importantly tender.  It was really good!!!
It's nice to see an authentic Korean place run by Korean people in the inland empire.  Now I don't have to drive to k-town anymore.  The flavors were on point.  Prices weren't bad.  Place looked clean.  If I'm craving korean tofu soup, or if it's a cold day, or if I'm under the weather, this will be my goto korean soup place!!!

We stopped by for some Korean Tofu to satiate our hunger pangs.  The restaurant setting is very straight forward and functional.  In fact, as I was about to enter the restaurant, I stepped back just to be sure it was still open.  However, it turns out the whole plaza seems to be in need of a little bit of a facelift.  Fortunately, the staff inside were not tired and fatigued, but instead friendly and cordial.

The placemat menu featured a number of different tofu soups and entrees.  We placed orders for a dumpling, seafood and beef, and seafood tofu soup.  Not long after, the server placed a variety of banchan and metal bowls of rice for our eager stomachs to devour.  Honestly, I am not sure what the proper way to eat these delectable little side dishes are, but I threw caution (and maybe cultural etiquette?) to the wind, and just dived in well equipped with the available chopsticks.  The banchan included some familiars such as kimchi, bean sprouts, cucumbers, and radish (julienned at this restaurant).  Interestingly, there was also a small plate of potato that was a bit overly sweet for my taste.  Overall, the banchan was not bad.

The tofu soups were also pretty tasty.  We ordered our tofu soups with mild (1 chili spice level because we're whimpy), and one of us from the party was even courageous enough to order spicy level with 2 chili pepper signs!  There was just enough kick to our soup without causing our tongues to catch fire and sweat on the brows.

While visiting the parental units in So Cal, my mom and I stopped by this place for lunch after we picked up some quality audio and video cables that were on sale from the Monoprice retail store in Rancho Cucamonga. Speaking of which, check out Monoprice products...great quality cables for a fraction of the price of Monster Cable products.

    OK, back to the review.

I am not Korean, and don't play one on TV nor stayed in a Holiday Inn last night...but I've spent 3 years living in South Korea while on active duty with the Army...so I would like to think my palette knows authentic Korean food. Myung Dong offerings certainly tasted authentic to me...but with an American twist.

It was a somewhat late lunch so the place wasn't too busy. We were given the menu which doubles as our place mat. Upon perusing the menu, my mom who loves bibimbap dol sot (in a hot earthen pot) ordered the Vegie and Beef Hot Stone Bibimbap while I ordered the Hot Stone Beef Bulgogi Combo which came with your choice of tofu soup. I opted for the seafood and beef tofu soup.

The banchan served prior to our meal were very good and varied. I especially liked glass noodles served with what looked like slivers of cucumber in a sweet and vinegary base. Of course the kimchi was good. Mom and I polished off some of the banchan and ordered more prior to our meals being served.

The seafood and beef tofu soup was served bubbling hot. The silky tofu swimming in that savory broth was so good. There were clams, beef and a piece of shrimp in the soup. It was filling...but before I could finish my soup, here comes our entrees.

My bulgogi was served on top of the rice in a very hot earthen pot. Even in Korea, they are normally served separately with the bulgogi served on a sizzling cast iron plate and the white rice in a metal bowl with a lid. So this presentation took me by surprise...but dig in I did. The bulgogi was good and the meat quality was just as good with minimal gristle. While the flavor was decent, I dare say I've had better. Mom loved her bibimbap, and liked how it was served with a fresh egg that she cracked over it herself. I tried the gochujang sauce to accompany her bibimbap and I don't quite remember the ones in Korea tasting like Myung Dong's.

All in all, a good meal with portions that were quite generous...we took our leftovers and had them for dinner. Lunch for 2 came out to just over $34 with tip. Mom loved their food so much, she vowed to come back whenever she finds herself in RC
